Upper body. 55 Pullups! - Joey

Warm up

1/ Speed bench 9 x 3. Top set 3 @ 60kgs

2/ DB shoulder press 5 x 5

3/ Pull ups - 55 reps

4/ Circuit x 3

  • Seated row x 10
  • Sled/chest press x 1 length
  • Sled face pulls x 1 length

I was really stuffed turning up at ESP today. So I was really surprised when I managed to bench 60kgs for 3 reps. That's definitely a 3 rep PB for me. It wasn't until I had finished my 9 sets of bench that I read my program and realised I was up for 55 PULL UPS. My heart sunk slightly :( 55 might not seem like many to some but for me it’s just massive and takes me ages. I managed to get out 7/6/6/5/5/1 then went to the band for the last 25. Things just got crazy then. I started trying pullups with a different grip. My trainer Dave tried to tell me they were easier... he was wrong!

All in all a good workout though. Back at ESP for a lower body session tomorrow!
