Training With RD At Derrimut Gym - Joey

Squat – worked up to 100kg. Down sets 80x3

Sumo Deadlift – 6x2 @ 90kg, 110x1

Bench Press – worked up to 60kgx1. Down set – 40x10

Treadmill – ten minutes increasing speed. Then 3x100m sprints.

I went in wanting to kick my brother’s arse (that's RD) but wasn’t quite up to the chase. I was pretty happy though. I’ve been training full on in prep for the beep test which I need to pass to make it into the CFA so am a bit rundown. I’ll be doing that in nine days. Then I might have a real crack at powerlifting and see what I have in me. RD keeps pushing me to do a block of powerlifting to see what I’m capable of. The vid below is one of my work sets with 80kg. Looking at the vid I can see they were a tad high.

I’ve challenged RD to a hill run comp at Eastern Beach. I reckon I’ve got him. He’s strong, but he’s also a lumbering oaf. I’m going to film him running the hill and put some techno music to it, do a close up on his massive, oversized glutes and then put it in slow-mo. That will hurt him even more when I’m lapping him and laughing as he cries through his fatigue and vomits into the ocean.

It will be fun!
